About DecodeStocks

DecodeStocks makes stock analysis easier to understand. Company figures, financial metrics and valuations are more accessible than ever. Yet for many retail investors, it is still difficult to identify the information that really matters and put it into context. That is where DecodeStocks comes in: we structure financial and company data, visualise developments and bring key metrics together in clear analyses and scores. Our goal is not to show as many numbers as possible, but to make it easier to understand what lies behind those numbers.

How DecodeStocks started

DecodeStocks originally began as a side project by our founder, Pascal Guhl.

He has been investing in stocks himself for several years and takes a close interest in companies and their financial metrics. Time and again, one thing became clear: there is no shortage of financial data – but it is rarely presented in a way that retail investors find genuinely clear and easy to follow.

This gap became particularly clear when trying to explain individual metrics and financial relationships to friends.

That gave rise to the idea of making company data simpler, more visual and, above all, quicker to grasp.

Over time, the side project became a full-time occupation. A great deal of work has gone into developing the platform since then – from preparing the financial data and designing the analyses to shaping each individual view.

From the very beginning, it mattered to us that investors should not have to laboriously extract information from tables and figures.

That is why a lot of thought has gone into the small details, too: How can trends be spotted straight away? Which metrics belong together? And how can even extensive analyses stay clear?

Instead of showing as much information as possible at once, we rely on clearly structured areas, compact overviews and visualisations that make relationships visible at a glance.

The original project eventually became DecodeStocks.

What DecodeStocks stands for

Clarity

Financial information does not need to be unnecessarily complicated.

We explain relationships, structure financial metrics and aim to present even more complex company data in a way that can be understood without years of experience.

Transparency

A simplified presentation should not turn into a black box.

Valuations and scores are based on defined data and rules. Wherever possible, we make clear which data is used and how an assessment is calculated.

Your own decisions

DecodeStocks is designed to help investors understand companies better – not to make personal investment decisions for them.

Our content and analyses are intended for a general audience. Personal financial circumstances, individual investment objectives and personal risk tolerance are not taken into account in the company analyses provided.

DecodeStocks does not provide personalised investment advice.

Our approach

Our starting point remains the same as it was with the original side project:

We want to do more than provide financial data. We want to make it understandable.

DecodeStocks aims to present financial data clearly without reducing complex relationships too far into a simple “good” or “bad”.

We want to show which metrics matter, how they have developed and how they can be put into context.

So investors can draw their own conclusions.
